I have donated to Locks of Love three times and it is a blessing every time. The first time was over six years ago and I did it just because I had heard so much about it and wanted to help. The second time, my first grade class (I am a teacher), held a “Hair Drive” as our service project. That was four years ago. Two years ago, a very dear friend was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. When her hair began to fall out, I offered to cut it for her, rather than her going to a salon. So we had a ‘shearing’ party with pizza and friends to try to make lemonade out of lemons. Then, I let her cut my 10″ ponytail off to send in with her hair. She is in remission at this time and it is a blessing to see her at work every day, healthy and with a beautiful head of newly grown hair. I am unable to join your efforts to donate at this time, but look forward to doing it again in the near future when my hair is long enough again. I love the Halle Barry cut – that would be my vote!

2 years ago Kylee (6 years old at the time) ask me if I would grow my hair out and donate to Locks of Love with her. I told her I would love to and we began our journey. After seeing Sonya’s challenge I decided we would donate in March to support her. We had the pleasure of meeting you and Matt when you attended Deep Springs Baptist Church in Dryden, Va (Rick Phillips Pastor) for Bible Study one Wednesday night. March 22, 2012 was the day for our cut. We are both enjoying our new looks.

my grandbaby is 9yrs old she has donated in her short life over 30 inches of hair and is planning on doing it again. i once received a flyer from st. judes and she asked me why the little girl had no hair, thats all it took and she was ready to give. what a gem she is in my life and i might add at the age of just 5and a half she sang for my sons funeral he was killed in a car accident. she has been sent to me straight from GOD, there is no doubt in my heart praise HIS Holy name AMEN! by the way i can hardly wait to see yall in july at pctn wv

I am so excited…I made the cut today! My hair is now 10″ shorter & my head (and my spirit) feels so much lighter! Your announcements on The Browders Friends Facebook page couldn’t have come at a better time…I was looking to try a new style & you gave me the inspiration to go beyond a new style & give to a very worthy cause. Can’t wait to see everyone else as they get their cuts!

A couple of years ago my daughter, Mily, decided she was going to donate to Locks Of Love. She thought this would be a good way to help a sick child. I had never discussed this with her, she had researched it at school. So I was very proud of her to make this big decision on her own. I took her for the cut and she gave 14″. She is 13 years old now and is thinking that she would like to do this again. So we will see? Have a Blessed Day!
